welcome to virgin gorda
The British Virgin Islands are often called Nature’s Little Secrets because of their unspoiled natural beauty. Whether you enjoy sandy beaches, sailing, hiking or water-sports, you will always have something to do in Virgin Gorda. Discover Virgin Gorda with our Speedy's Virgin Gorda Tours. Second in size to Tortola the magical island of Virgin Gorda is known for its unusual topography and the relaxed and simple way of life. The northern side of Virgin Gorda is primarily mountainous with the highest point reaching 418 meters where as the southern side is relatively flat with gigantic boulders at every turn.
Arriving to Virgin Gorda
You will be met at the Spanish Town ferry dock by colorful open air safari buses to be taken on a leisurely tour of the island, heading first along Virgin Gorda's Ridge Road towards the North Sound. You will have plenty of opportunities to stop on the way to take photographs of the breathtaking views of the surrounding islands including Prickly Pear, Necker Island, Eustatia Island and the Dog Islands. You may also see a few wandering goats, chickens and donkeys along the way.
A brief stop (approx. 5 min.) will be made at the Gorda Peak National Park with its wide variety of indigenous and exotic vegetation. Gorda Peak is the highest point on the island and again spectacular views abound. Then, it's time to descend to Leverick Bay Resort and Marina. A brightly colored Caribbean-style resort where you will have the chance to have refreshments at the local Pussers Company Store or if desired, browse in the selection of local gifts and craft shops. (15 min.) Then it's back into the Safari buses heading south with the next stop being the famous "Spring Bay Beach" (approx. 25 minutes drive). Spring Bay is famous for it's beautiful white sandy beach and exquisite colored water. You will be allowed to swim, snorkel, walk or explore the rocks for 1 hour 25 minutes. After appreciating one of nature's little secrets, it will be time to head back to the buses for your rum punch and the final trip back to the ferry dock and ship.

Spaniards passing through the BVI were the first Europeans to mine coppers here in the early 18th century. However, Cornish miners built the ruins that remain today in the 1800s, following a decline in mineral deposits in Cornwall, England. The mine closed in 1862 and is now a fabulous spot to stargaze and get lost in the beautiful ocean sounds and sights.

Tips + Takeaways for Visiting The Baths
If you’re traveling with young children, you’ll want to keep a watchful eye on where they’re wandering (there are plenty of little nooks to climb into and currents that can be a bit strong on rougher days).
If you’re traveling in an adults-only group with a desire for more adventure, The Baths are an absolute adult playground. Prepare to climb, duck, and army crawl your way through to find some stunning areas that will have you absolutely believing that this was a pirate’s haven.
Wear special footwear for climbing/hiking wet slippery surfaces. Do not wear heels!
Pack light. As explained before, exploring The Baths can be quite challenging, lots of ladders, rocky passages… you should wear a waterproof bag with cash and your card on it, phone, camera and your snorkeling gear in hand. Do not carry big beach bags, purses, beach chairs… only a small amount of important items please! Backpacks are great for this excursion, not too heavy!
We do not recommend this excursion to people physically challenged. Those who want to visit us in Virgin Gorda and think they can’t make this excursion can stay at the Top of The Baths restaurant, enjoy the beautiful views, have some lunch and drinks, refresh at the pool and do some shopping.
At The Baths you will be able to enjoy beautiful snorkeling when the flag is green, have some drinks and food at Poor’s Man Bar and buy gorgeous t-shirts, sarongs, hats and more beautiful beach crafts!
